You just got engaged, I am sure you have so many things to think about, one of them being where am I going to get married and celebrate with my family and friends! Understanding, you have so many choices, we wanted to offer some help so you can narrow down your options and find the perfect Venue for your wedding!
On our Blog we aim to help educate and inspire by giving you the tools to help you create your best day ever.
For those new to our blog, welcome to Historic Venue 1902. We are a Florida based wedding venue and we love to offer ideas, tips and information that can help engaged couples throughout the planning process. From knowing what we offer at Historic Venue 1902 to actual wedding day inspiration, we always strive to provide a wide range of content. As the opening paragraph alluded to, this week’s blog is going to provide insight as to the benefits of having a Venue that hosts Ceremony and Reception at one location. After having a rough budget sketched out for your wedding, you’ll have the opportunity to tour different wedding venues throughout Central Florida and ultimately decide which one is right for you. With this, one of the questions many couples are faced with is deciding between having separate venues for the ceremony and reception or holding both at the same location. There’s obviously benefits to each, but today we’ll be going through some of the advantages of having everything at one venue. Having said that, let’s jump right in and discuss wedding venues capable of hosting both wedding ceremonies and receptions!
Simplified Schedule-
When you have your ceremony and reception at the same place, scheduling is simplified: You no longer need to figure out how long it's going to take everyone to get from one place to the other, you don't have to set up your wedding decorations in two venues, and you don’t have to rush your photographer.
Having your ceremony and reception take place at the same venue means you only need to schedule and pay for one ride. You also no longer need to worry about any traffic concerns when moving from ceremony to reception. Unexpected traffic can crop up anywhere, so not having to travel between venues is always a plus.
Money Saver-
While it’s never the easiest of topics to discuss, it goes without saying that money is something that’s heavily involved in the entire wedding planning process. By needing one less limo ride, cutting half the decorations, creating less hassle for the vendors, and reserving only one venue, you can save money. While you may have to pay more to reserve a single venue for the full day rather than just a few hours, this single reservation typically is still more affordable than reserving two venues. Historic Venue 1902 offers not only an incredible ceremony garden but also a rain back up plan and two stunning indoor ceremony options. This can be a big money saver- if a Venue only offers a backup plan that includes you spending additional money to cover the guest- make sure you know up front the cost. In Florida especially this is a huge factor in your budget since our weather can be unpredictable! Back to the topic of this week’s blog being tied to holding your ceremony and reception at the same place, the truth is this decision can be a money saver as well. For one, an obvious savings will come from not having to transport people from one venue to the next. Most of your guests will likely drive themselves, but you’ll likely be responsible for at least getting the wedding party from one Venue to the other. And even though rentals aren’t incredibly expensive, it is another line item on the overall bill (which could be tough if you’re already stretching your budget). To add one more money saver to the equation, chances are your venue bill will be more affordable having both events at the same place, as opposed to working with two different venues. Will this be the case with all event spaces? Probably not, but a general assumption could prove this to be true.
Keeping Everything on Time-
With so many different parties involved on the actual wedding day itself, it’s safe to say that a day-of wedding timeline is essential. However, just having a wedding timeline established is only half the battle. You need to make sure everything stays on schedule and that’s where the Historic Venue 1902 Team is invaluable! Our wedding planning help and day of coordinator will be an invaluable piece to your big day as well as the custom timeline on the chalkboard
in the Groom's suite! So, you are starting to see why holding both at the same venue plays a huge role in keeping everything on schedule.
Since your guests won’t be driving from one venue to the next, it should always provide for a smooth transition from the ceremony to the reception. Right after the ceremony concludes, your guests can enjoy a cocktail hour while you utilize that time for photos. Whether that be formal portraits, family photos or wedding party pics, this is the perfect time frame for capturing the moments. In the meantime, everyone will still be on-site, and you won’t have to worry about anyone having trouble finding the reception venue.
Better yet, If the Venue allows you to get ready on site this will also help with keeping things on time and save money. In addition, if the venue you select has two separate areas for the ceremony and reception, all the décor can be set up ahead of time. A common set-up for this at Historic Venue 1902 involves an outdoor ceremony, indoor or outdoor cocktail hour before heading upstairs for the reception. Let’s not forget the ever important back up plan for weather! At Historic Venue 1902, we are pros with seamless room flips for indoor weddings- you and your guests will be busy enjoying cocktail hour, while we handle the amazing transformation from indoor ceremony to reception!
Easier For Everyone -
It is becoming more and more apparent that having everything in one place just makes sense and is easier for everyone! Most importantly it is easier for the couple planning the wedding! You will eliminate the need for travel expenses, confusion for guests. It will help keep the day on time and running smoothly.
We understand every couple is different and creating your dream wedding might look slightly different then the next couple which is perfectly fine! It is important to find a Venue with a team who you can work with and that will help you customize your wedding vision. As we have discussed, holding your ceremony and reception at the same Venue is a wonderful way to celebrate your day and it is most common at Historic Venue 1902. However, if you desire a wedding at a church- lucky for you Historic Venue 1902 is surrounded by them! It is still convenient, and we can customize a timeline that will be perfect for your day!
